I have known this guy way back 2003, when Autumn In My Heart was aired here. He is my first oppa. :)

Actually when I watched Autumn In My Heart in 2000, I didn't like him. I am more of a Song Seunghun-Song Hyekyo fan then. And SSH appeared frm the tunnel first, so I couldn't stand Won Bin :lol:

But after watching AIMH many times back then, I felt for WB in AIMH too but just tht to me SSH-SHK still the perfect pair in tht, but outside AIMH, I knw I do love Won Bin. He's probably my favorite Korean actor, so thanks for making this thread. He does belong in the Angel's Home too cause of those CFs they did together, and if only KTH can be with a guy who's a mix of WB & Kim Raewon, I'd be contented haha.

well, think won bin is pretty good in "friends".. he did well with kyoko fukada and they look pretty compatible

Yea, he was the cutest in Friends, but for his best performance, definitely Taegugki / Brotherhood, great actor! Seems like he's always acting in male movies like Brotherhood, My Brother, Guns & Talks.... hoping to see him in a drama paired up with a girl, it's been a long time since Friends! And tht was so short.... -_-

Talking abt Kyoko, she used to like him & kinda confessed her feelings to him via video but he kinda rejected her cause he just thought of her as a sister or something :P

i first saw him in tae guk gi when i accidentally flipped the channel and thought it was cool they were showing a korean movie on cable tv, i didn't have no idea what was the story about or who the cast were but i thought he was really cute. after the movie i actually searched online and found out who he was.

the only other show i've seen him is autumn in my heart...his looks is very striking, like a mix of european/american, he doesn't look pure korean to me.

Binnie used to have long hair till he had to act in Autumn In My Heart & he had the short gelled hair, he was cute in there, back in sch in 2001, my friends & me were arguing over which guy in tht drama is better when the drama aired on TV.... but I wasn't into Binnie in there, I was hooked on the SSH-SHK tandem hahaha, but on his own, he's definitely one gd looker together with Jang Dong Gun, his costar in Brotherhood.

Now I'm watching Autumn in My Heart. He is cute, but I like the other guy better. Now that he's out of the army, what's next? Is he back to work with KTH?

AIMH was the very 1st drama I was so into :lol:
Wasn't my first Kdrama, but the 1st Kdrama I wanted to keep and it wasn't cause of Bin tht I got hooked, it's cause of the other guy (SSH) & SHK. So... long before I fell in love with the 2 KIMS in LSIH, I was into the 2 SONGS in AIMH but.... I guess my love for the KIMS have outlasted my love for the SONGS back then :P

Tisa, so we like the same guy in AIMH? SSH is now in army, and he'll be out with a bang in November with a large scale fanmeeting for all his fans....

As for Won Bin, he's now doing physical therapy for his leg.... he shd be back once he recovers well.... anyway, he was recently voted #4 as the Favorite Actor selected by Japanese & even though he's been out of the limelight for a yr, the Koreans voted him #2 for their Favorite Actor.

According to this news report, after the discharge of Top Hallyu Star Won Bin, this would be the 1st time that they allowed pictures of his physical therapy sessions to be taken. Won Bin also logged on to his Official Website and uploaded pictures of his physical therapy sessions as well as sending his regards to all of his fans.

He wrote: "How's life recently? Did u catch a cold due to the drastic weather changes? I've been focusing a lot on my rehab sessions. It's been 3 months. Now, I'm sure there won't be any problems for me to do my daily activities!!"

He also wrote: "To fully recover, I still need time. But, I'm hoping that through my determination I'll recover gradually. I'm waiting for that joyful day and to smile with all of you!"

In the picture, Won Bin with his messy/rugged hair look, he's wearing a sports attire while doing therapy such as jumping especially on his knee.

His managing company manager Mr. Ng (i think...) said that: "Won Bin is diligently coming to the center everyday to do his physical therapy for 3-4 hrs each session. It's been heard that Won Bin had recovered 80%, it should take another 1-2 months to fully recover and we'll start planning to take up some new projects!!"

Last year November 29, Won Bin went into the army but was discharged this year June 7 due to knee ligament ruptured. While he was serving in the army, he was in the front line (GOP) and this had become a hot topic. When his knee condition worsened, Won Bin is forced to discharge.

Injured Star Discharged from Military Service



Only a few months after starting his compulsory military service and volunteering to huge publicity for a frontline unit, the actor Won Bin was discharged on Wednesday.

Recently approved for medical discharge due to a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), Won filled in his release papers at the military hospital at the unit where he was recovering from a knee operation in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province and emerged at about 9 a.m.

He appeared in white sneakers rather than combat boots. "The fact that I went all the way to the front line to serve may have made my early discharge even more disappointing for the fans," he admitted. "I'd just like to tell all my fellow soldiers that I'm grateful for everything, and I'm sorry."

"I experienced pain in my knee before I joined the Army, but it was ruled that it wouldn't be an impediment to military life. It may have been aggravated by serving in mountainous area," the star explained. Asked why he volunteered for border guard duty despite the pain, he said, "I could have been in the entertainment corps, but I wanted to keep my promise to fans that I would do regular military service." :wub:

Asked when he will make his acting comeback, Won said, "There are no plans, currently," and cut off the questions.

Meanwhile, it was the online topic of the day. Internet users were divided. "When he shoots films he's always running and jumping all over the place but now he can't even take two years in the army," one user wrote on a discussion board. "A discharge is reasonable for people who are ill or can't adjust to military life, but why do stars who look healthy on the outside always have some problem on the inside?" But there was no shortage of posts expressing sympathy for the actor.

"An injury to the ACL makes it impossible to continue with military life even the person wants to," one of them said. "There are many ordinary people who have been discharged for tearing their ACL, so why does everyone have to go on about Won Bin?"
